How is the winning square calculated?
The home team's final score supplies the row digit and the away team's final score supplies the column digit. A 24-17 final lands on row 4, column 7: square 47.
Can I choose my square?
No. Claims are randomly assigned from the squares still available. That quick reveal is a core part of the game.
When do claims close?
For attached games, claims close shortly before the scheduled start. The backend rejects any claim submitted after the saved cutoff.
What if the board does not fill?
The creator selects an unsold-square rule before play. The default allocates open squares by the ownership share of the players who did claim.
How are scores updated?
A scheduled backend job checks eligible games on a slow five-minute cadence, stores score snapshots, and settles once the provider reports the game final.
Are private boards searchable?
No. Private boards do not appear in public discovery. Players enter through the invite link and passcode.
Does Play Final Digits collect money?
No. The current product is free and does not collect entry fees, hold funds, or distribute prizes. Organizers are responsible for their own arrangements and local requirements.
Which sports are supported?
Football and basketball use classic 10 by 10 final digits. Baseball, hockey, and soccer use smaller grouped-score boards designed for lower-scoring games.
