How is the winning square calculated?
The home team's final score supplies the row digit and the away team's final score supplies the column digit. A 24-17 final lands on row 4, column 7: square 47.
Can I choose my square?
No. Each claim receives a random available square. The creator can reveal assignments immediately or keep them sealed until claims close.
Do I need an account?
You can browse privacy-protected Game Center activity and public sponsor games without an account. A signed-in account is required to create a group board or claim squares so ownership stays attached to the right player.
When do claims close?
Claims close shortly before the scheduled start shown on the board. Any claim submitted after that cutoff is rejected, even if the page was already open.
Can a creator limit squares per player?
Yes. A board can allow unlimited claims or set a maximum from 1 to 100 squares for each signed-in account.
What if the board does not fill?
The creator chooses the rule before play. Open squares can be allocated among existing players, stay empty and fall back through previous owned scores, remain public for an equal group split, or cause the board to cancel. See the complete winning logic for every model.
How are scores updated?
Official scores update automatically around game time. Players can reload the latest saved board state, and the creator can request a fresh official score. The board settles only after the game is reported final.
What do the score-pattern signals mean?
They highlight relative final-score patterns as the game changes. They are game-day context, not sportsbook odds or betting advice, and the official final score always determines the winner.
Are group boards searchable?
No. Regular and season-long group boards are invite-only and stay out of public discovery. The organizer shares a clean invite link and the 4-digit passcode separately. Game Center may show anonymized matchup-level totals only after enough independent groups are active.
What is a season pool?
A season pool keeps one group's square ownership for an NFL or Division I FBS team's regular season. Each scheduled game becomes a new result inside the same season hub, with standings and past winners collected in one place.
Does Play Final Digits collect money?
No. The current product is free and does not collect entry fees, hold funds, or distribute prizes. Organizers are responsible for their own arrangements and local requirements.
Which sports are supported?
Football and basketball use classic 10 by 10 final digits. Baseball, hockey, and soccer use smaller grouped-score boards designed for lower-scoring games.
